PEARCE Frederick

1843 17 Dec. Cathay, St Mary Redcliffe parish on the baptism of his daughter Matilda Mary Gane.  Wife Matilda (RPR).

PEARCE George

Born c1855 in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset (81C).

1880 21 Nov. Redcross Street, St Philip’s parish (25), the son of Thomas Pearce, a tile maker, he married Emily Farren (21) of St Philip’s parish, the daughter of John Farren, an iron worker (PPR).
1881 12 Aberdeen Street, St Philip’s parish (26), living with his wife Emily (22), born in Warwickshire, and daughter Elizabeth Ellen (11), born in Stapleton, Gloucestershire (81C).

 

PEARCE John I

The son of Henry Pearce of Bristol, basket maker (A).

1766 17 May. He was apprenticed to William I and Mary Maynard (A, Ao).

PEARCE John II

1891 2 Aug.  Noted as a potter when his daughter Clara (23) a tailoress of 5 Morley Terrace married Charles Thomas Cox (HTPR).

PEARCE Thomas I

See the Potteries section for the St Philip’s Pottery 4.

There is a reference to him running a Pottery in Avon Street. It is assumed that he was in partnership with his brother Colston Pearce, in the St Philip’s Pottery 4.

The son of Earl Pearce I and Elizabeth Pearce, and the brother of Colston Pearce and Earl Pearce II.

PERRINS John

The son of John Perrins of Bristol, glassmaker (A).

1753 11 Apr. He was apprenticed to Thomas II and Bathsheba Cantle. Friends to find apparel and washing (A, Ao, Ar).
1756 26 Jun. His apprenticeship was transferred to William Taylor (A).
1765-69 He stood sureties of £5 for John Fry and John Hill to keep alehouses in Temple parish (AKL).
1768 19 Mar. He became a free potter (F, G).
1774 Potter, St Mary Redcliffe parish (P).
1781 Potter, Bath, Somerset (P).
1788 2 May. Possibly the ‘John Perkins, potter, Temple Backs’ who stood surety of ‘£20 for the appearance of Thomas Sayce to answer Articles of Peace exhibited against him by Elizabeth Hart’ (T).
