LEESE Charles

Born c1874 in Stoke, Staffordshire (01C).

1891 Potter’s presser, 1 Penkhull Terrace, Stoke (17), living with his parents and siblings (91C).
1894 27 Dec. He married Catherine Minnie Wildin at Penkhull, Staffordshire (Ancestry website).
1901 Potter’s fireman, 15 York Street, St George (27), living with his wife Catherine Minnie (28), born in Stoke, and children Betsy (5), Kate (4), Charles (2) and Thomas (2 mths), all born in Bristol (01C).
1911 His wife and children were living at 27 Smith Child Street, Tunstall, Staffordshire. He is not mentioned although his wife was not described as a widow (11C).

1756 26 Jun. His apprenticeship was transferred to William Taylor (A).

1775 5 Dec. He was apprenticed to Richard and Judith Champion as a china painter.  Friends to find apparel and washing (A, Ao).

1871 23 Jan. Regent Street (19) the son of John Lewis, a labourer, he married Emily Rollings (19) of Regent Street, the daughter of James Rollings, a labourer (HTPR).

1881 Foreman, stoneware pottery, 17 Mead Street, Bedminster (33), living with his wife Hannah (34) and children Robert (9), George (5) and Hannah (1), all born in Bedminster (81C).
1885 30 Dec. He was probably the T.J. Lewis described as foreman of Messrs Powell and Sons pottery when a fire occurred in an adjoining building (Bristol Mercury).
1901 Insurance collector, 17 Mead Street, Bedminster (53), living with his wife Hannah (54) and children, including William (17), born in Bristol (01C).

LEYLAND Peter

1705 14 Mar. A potter of Bristol he was bondsman to the administration of the estate of Samuel Tovey, baker, deceased (Adm.).

1901 Possibly the William J. Leyman who was working as a bricklayer’s labourer at 36 Hanover Street, Portsmouth, Hampshire (01C).
