1709 | 15 Oct. A potter of Temple parish he was granted a licence to marry Mary Weaver of the same parish, at Temple. Bondsman: Edward Ward II, potter (M). Mary Weaver was the sister of the potter, John Weaver (PRO Prob RG11/667). |
1733 | 18 Jun. Described as a potter when his son, John III, was apprenticed to John Weaver, potter (A, Ao, Ar). |
1734 | 13 Sep. He was living in a house in St Augustine-the-Less parish owned by John Weaver, potter (PRO Prob RG11/667). |

1750 | 1 Nov. Possibly the John Grace ‘Pot-Turner in the Glasgow Pot-House, aged 29 years or thereby’ who gave evidence in the Delftfield Pottery Case. It was stated in evidence that sometime before, he had been working at Joseph Fortee’s Pottery at Lambeth and had been working as a pot-turner for 17 years (Scottish Pottery Society 81/76). |
