SHORTMAN Elizabeth
1874 | 24 Apr. ‘Elizabeth Shortman was charged with stealing some earthenware articles, the property of Mr John Ellis, of the Crown Pottery, St George’s. Charlotte Bryant said that on the 21 ult. she saw the prisoner take a jug from a bucket that witness was taking to the kiln. Harriet Bryant saw the prisoner take several other articles away under her shawl. Witness did not say anything to her, but had previously told her that if she took away so much her master would know of it.
