1841 10 Feb. He was apprenticed to J.D. Pountney, aged 21 years (Ao).
1841 29 Mar. Redcliff Meads, St Mary Redcliff parish, the son of James Sellick, a cordwainer, he married Maria May (20) of Redcliff Meads, the daughter of William May, labourer (RPR).
1842 3 Jul. West Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1844 28 Jan. Jacob Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).

There is no other record of Samuel Serle and this may have been a mistake; perhaps for the potter Samuel Sheppard who had been working in Avon Street before that date.
