1865 William Street (18), the son of William Stuckey, a cooper, he married Mary Jane Smalldridge (18) of William Street, the daughter of Robert Smalldridge, a labourer (PPR).

1858 15 Dec. Noted as a potter when his daughter Mary Swaine (28) of Princes Street married William Higgins (JBPR).

 

SWEARINGEN John

1739 5 Jun. He stood surety for the appearance of John Exenham, labourer, at the next Quarter Sessions to answer for an assault on his wife, Sarah (T).
1740 10 Apr. John Swearingan of Temple, potter, petitioned for freedom (PF).
1740 10 Apr. He became a free potter ‘by vote of the Common Council and a £10 fine’ (F, G, CCP).
1741 4 Jul. ‘Mary, wife of John Swearingen, potter, St John’ buried (RB).
1742 He stood surety of £5 for William Price to keep an alehouse in Temple parish (AKL).
1743 26 May. A potter of Temple parish, he was granted a licence to marry Frances Ward, widow, of Henbury, Gloucestershire, at Henbury or Temple (M).

Frances Ward was probably the widow of James Ward, potter.

1744 He stood sureties of £5 each for John Weaver and Elinor Collins to keep alehouses in Temple parish (AKL).

1840 13 Jul. 2 St Mary-le-Port Street, St Mary-le-Port parish, the son of Thomas Sweet, a potter, he married Ann Martin the daughter of Henry Martin, a brick maker (MLPPR).
