HARDING Charles

The son of Charles Harding of Bristol, cordwainer (A).

1716 7 Jul. He was apprenticed to Mary Orchard ‘to be educated in the art of a glassmaker’ (A, Ar).  See also Mary Orchard.

 

HARDING George I

Born c1838 in Bristol (51C).

1851 Potter’s helper, 2 Thomas Place, St Thomas’s parish (13), living with his parents William and Olive Harding, cooper (51C).
1861 Labourer for potters, boarding at 7A Bond Street, Lambeth, London (61C).
1864 18 Dec. Lynes Court (25), the son of William Harding, cooper, he married Sarah Edwards (21), the daughter of John Edwards, turner (PPR).
1865 12 Nov. Church Lane on the baptism of his son, William George (born 9 Oct 1865).  Wife Sarah (PPR).
1871 Labourer, 9 Plough Court, St Mary Redcliffe parish (32), living with his wife Sarah (27), born in Bristol, and children William (3), born in Bedminster, and Alfred J. (3 mths), born in Bristol (71C).

1828 10 Aug. Potter of Bedminster on the baptism of his daughter Catherine Ann.  Wife Catherine (PPR).
1851 Journeyman potter, lodging at Triangle Place, St Philip’s parish (45), widower (51C).
1854 19 Mar. Seal Street on the baptism of his son William Gwatkin.  Wife Eliza (HTPR).
1857 1 Jun. Noted as a potter when his daughter Catherine Ann (29), schoolmistress of 131 St Thomas Street, St Thomas’s parish married John Lucas (ThPR).
1861 23 Seal Street, St Philip’s parish (55), living with his wife Eliza (46) born in Durdham Down, Bristol, and his son William (7) born in Upper Easton (61C).
1871 His wife was a widow (71C).

1911 Sanitary presser, 51 Causeway, Fishponds (34), living with his wife Emma (31) and daughter Irene (6), both born in Woodville (11C).
1952 29 May. He died at 17 Beechwood Road, Fishponds (PRO National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1995).
