GIBSON Frank
| 1918 | 5 Sep. Frank Gibson, 29, was charged at the Bristol Police Court with being a deserter and with impersonating his brother. Detective Wall, said that on the 27 August he went to the Bristol Pottery and saw the defendant, who gave the name of Charles Gibson and produced a discharge from the army in that name. Accused told the Bench that he had reasons for so doing. He had been out in France since the war began, and when he came home found his wife had been carrying on with another man. The Bench said it was a serious offence, and they could not overlook it, despite the extenuating circumstances he had mentioned. He would have to go to prison for a month (Western Daily Press). |
