The son of Thomas Stockman of Bristol, combmaker (A).

1708 28 May. He was apprenticed to Henry Hobbs and co-partners (Ar).
1721 6 Jul. He became a free potter (F, G).
1722 8 Mar. A potter of Bristol, he stood surety for the appearance of Elizabeth Hipsly at the next General Sessions (T).
1722 Potter, St Stephen’s parish (P).
1725 24 Sep. He was to appear at the next General Sessions (T).
1726 22 Feb. A potter of Bristol, he stood surety for the appearance of Francis Mabbett, porter, at the next General Sessions (T).
1734 Potman, St Stephen’s parrish (P).
1739 Potter, St Mary Redcliffe parish (P).
1741 10 Sep. ‘Philip Stockman agt Thomas Battin At the Pothouse in Limekiln Lane. Thursday the 24th Sept 1741. Debt proved to be 17s.2½d for victuals and drink order’d it be paid with costs at 1s a week’ (C).
1741 17 Sep. ‘Philip Stockman agst John Longbottom at the Pothouse in Limekiln Lane. Thursday the 24th. Debt proved to be 8s.3d for victuals and drink order’d it be paid with costs at 1s a week’ (C).
1743 Possibly the ‘William’ Stockman who stood surety for Elizabeth Porter, widow, to keep an alehouse in St Mary Redcliffe parish (AKL).
