Born c1796 in Bristol, the father of George and Joseph Marsh (41C).

1841 Water Lane, Temple parish (45), living with his wife Ann (50) born in Bristol, and children (41C).
1842 1 Aug. Noted as a potter when his son Joseph, a potter, of Shim Lane, Bedminster, married Caroline Crew (JBPR).
1843 16 Jul. Noted as a potter when his daughter Elizabeth of St Philip’s parish married Jonas Goodall (PPR).
1844 12 Mar. Noted as a potter when his son George was apprenticed to J.D. Pountney (A).
1846 28 Jan. Noted as a potter when his daughter Hannah, a dressmaker of Wilson Terrace, married David George (PaPR).
1847 2 Jan. Samuel Marsh is mentioned as working at Pountneys Bristol Pottery (Bristol Times).
1848 30 Jun. He was buried at Temple church, aged 57 (TPR).
1851 His wife was a widow, living at 1 Lewis’s Buildings, Temple parish (61), born in Wellington, Somerset (51C).
1852 26 Sep. Noted as a potter when his daughter Eliza (21) of Redcliff Crescent married William Henry Morris (JBPR).
1852 11 Dec. ‘Marriages 26 September at Bedminster church … Wm Henry Morris, fitter, to Eliza, youngest daughter of the late Samuel Marsh, some years foreman at the Bristol Pottery’ (Bristol Times).
1870 2 May. ‘Died April 29, at 38 Beaumont Street, Stapleton Road, Mrs Ann Marsh, relict of Mr Samuel Marsh, late foreman of the Bristol Pottery, aged 80’ (Bristol Times & Mirror).
