1871 No occupation, Venus Street, Congresbury (19), living with his parents, James, a farm labourer, Elizabeth, and siblings (71C).
1881 Carter/haulier in pottery, 6 Belle Vue Road, Bedminster (28), living with his wife Anna (27), born in Wick St Lawrence, Somerset, and daughter Agnes Sarah (3), born in Bristol (81C).
1888 22 May. He won a prize in the Bristol Horse Parade on behalf of the Victoria Pottery, St Philip’s Marsh (Western Daily Press).
1891 Carter, 1 John’s Lane, Bedminster (38), living with his wife Anna (36) and children Agnes (10) and Nellie (7), both born in Gloucestershire (91C).
1901 Pottery haulier, 42 Bushy Park, Knowle (48), living with his wife Anna (46) and daughter Nellie (17) (01C).
1911 Haulier, pottery trade, 44 Bushy Park, Totterdown (60), living with his wife Anna (57) (11C).
1920 8 Jun. ‘The funeral of the late Samuel Knight, for 50 years a faithful servant pf Messrs Pountney and Co. Ltd., the Bristol Potteries, Fishponds, took place yesterday.  The first part of the service was conducted at 48 Bushy Park … the concluding service was taken at Arnos Vale Cemetery where the remains were interred …’ (Western Daily Press).
