Born c1853 in Temple parish, the father of Alfred Jewell II (91C).

1871 Labourer in pottery, 6 Milletts Court, Temple parish (18) living with his parents William and Ellen Jewell, a shoemaker (71C).
1878 14 Apr. Anvil Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1880 12 Sep. 22 Avon Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1881 Potter, 23 Aitken Street, St George (28), living with his wife Harriet (27), born in Bristol, and children (81C).
1891 Pottery labourer, 37 Aitken Street, St George (38), living with his wife Harriet (37), born in St Philip’s parish, and children (91C).
1901 His second wife, Mary (53), born in Bratton Fleming, Devon, was a widow.  She had previously been the wife of Edward Bryant of Nether Stowey, Somerset and had two children by him, Mabel Ann (15) and Frances (12), and was looking after Alfred’s youngest daughter May (12) (91C, 01C).
