HEAPE Edwin (Edward) Stephens

Born c1867 in Albert Village, Leicestershire, the father of Emily and Ada Heape (91C, 11C).

1890 3 Jun. He married Elizabeth ward at Church Gresley, Derbyshire (Ancestry website).
1891 Potter presser, 7 Boss Row, New Street, Church Gresley, Derbyshire (24), living with his wife Elizabeth (24), born in Moira, Leicestershire (91C).
1901 Potter’s presser, 1 Regent Street, Church Gresley (34), living with his wife Elizabeth (35) and children Emily (8), Horace (6), Olive (5), all born in Church Gresley, Edna (4), born in Woodville, and Lawrence (4 mths), born in Church Gresley (01C).
1911 Sanitary presser, pottery manufacturer, 13 Balaclava Road, Fishponds (44), living withb his wife Elizabeth (45) and children, including Lillian (9), born in Church Gresley (11C).
1936 13 Feb. Inquest on Edward Stevens [sic] Heape (69) of Balaclava Road, Fishponds. He had been suffering from asthma, bronchitis and also from the effects of silicosis, from which he died.  He had been employed for 30 years as a ware maker at Messrs Pountney and Co’s pottery but had not followed his occupation since 1931.  Since that time he has been receiving compensation from the firm. The firm had admitted all liability. Verdict, death from natural causes (Western Daily Press).
