Flook, on his retirement after 50 years of continuous service … At the gathering at the works there were men who had known Mr Flook during the whole of his half-century of service, and eleven of the number totalled 492 years … Two had 62 years to their credit, and the shortest period of any was 30 years. Another point of interest in connection with the gathering was that one of the senior members of staff and his father could claim a total of over 100 years continuous service with the firm – Mr Joseph Marks J.P. who is so well known in this city’ (Western Daily Press). |
