She succeeded her father Joseph Bright I at the Pottery and was operating it with her sister, Ann Bright.

1848-52 Jane and Ann Bright an the 131 Temple Street Pottery.
1853 Jane Bright ran the 131 Temple Street Pottery alone.

The Pottery was then taken over by Charles Price II and Joseph Read Price.

 

Born c1811 in Temple parish, the daughter of Joseph Bright I and the sister of Ann, Arthur and Daniel Bright (TPR, 41C, 51C).

1811 27 Oct. Baptised at Temple church, the daughter of Joseph and ‘Cecil’ Bright (TPR).
1841 No occupation, Temple Street, Temple parish (25), living with her father and siblings (41C).
1848-50 Jane and Ann Bright, stoneware potters and patent water pipe manufacturers, 131 Temple Street (Ancestry website; MD).
1851 Stone ware manufacturer, employing 6 men, 3 boys and 1 clerk, 131 Temple Street, Temple parish (37), living with her brother Daniel and sister Ann, and a servant Harriet Bishop (17) (51C).
1851 Occup: Jane & Ann Bright, Owner: Peanes & Roach, House & Pottery, 130 Temple Street (BRO 04250(1)).
1851-52 Jane and Ann Bright, improved glazed stoneware, closet-pan, eject and water pipe manufacturers, 131 Temple Street (MD).
1852 Jane and Ann Bright exported 3,500 pieces of red and stoneware to Adelaide (PB-EXP).
1853 Bright & Co (or Jane Bright & Co), improved glazed stoneware, closet-pan, eject and water pipe manufacturers, 131 Temple Street (MD, Bristol Mercury).
1861 19 Mar. A potter of Bedminster (49) she married Henry Joseph Symes (53) of Temple parish, a provision merchant (JBPR).
1861 No occupation, living at 2 Temple Street, Temple parish, with her husband Henry Symes, a provision merchant (61C).
