1867 17 Sep. ‘William Wood, 34 years of age, residing in Mill Lane, Bedminster, and employed at Messrs Powell and Sons Stoneware Pottery Works, Temple Gate, fell down a flight of stairs at his master’s premises yesterday and sustained a severe contusion of the brain’ (Western Daily Press).
