Born in 1830 in St Mary Redcliffe parish, the son of John Thomas II and father of William Thomas VIII (RPR).

1851 19 Jan. Thomas Street, St Thomas parish, the son of John Thomas, a potter, he married Mary Wall of Thomas Street, the daughter of John Wall, a mariner (ThPR).
1852 18 Apr. Avon Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1853 2 Oct. Jacob Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1861 15 Temple Place, Temple parish (31), living with his wife Mary (36) born in Bristol and children (61C).
1863 4 Jan. Bread Street, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1865 7 Jan. Goat Alley, St Philip’s parish (PPR).
1867 19 Aug. Noted as a potter when his son William was apprenticed to W.A.F. Powell (Ao).
1871 11 Temple Place, Temple parish (41), living with his wife Mary A. (46) and children including William (17) a potter (71C).
1881 9 Temple Plain, Victoria Street (51), living with his wife Mary Ann (56) and children (81C).
