The son of Samuel Sweet of Bristol, labourer, born c1791 in Bristol, and the father of Isaac Sweet II (A, 41C).

1805 19 Aug. He was apprenticed to Samuel Sheppard (A, Ao).
1812 6 Oct. He obtained his freedom (F).

1853 21 Mar. Noted as a potter when his son Joseph Sweet, a confectioner, and widower of North Street married Ellen Jane Hampson (JBPR)
1854 18 Jun. Noted as a potter when his son Thomas Sweet, a grocer, of Kingsland Road married Gertrude St Ledger Cleaver (HTPR).
