The father of John Stephens II.

1812 12 Oct. He obtained his freedom as he was the son of William Stephens, a baker (F).

1813 & 14 Temple Street, Temple parish (TPR)
1822 & 27 St George (PPR).
1830-35 Temple Street, Temple parish (P).
1832 Temple Street, Temple parish (List of Electors BRO 04736).
1838 15 Jul. Noted as a potter when his son John, a potter of Brown’s Row married Matilda Morris (JBPR).
1841 His wife was a widow (41C).
1842 3 Jan. Noted as a potter when his daughter Mary Ann of East Street, Bedminster married John White (JBPR).
1842 20 Nov. Noted as a potter when his daughter Elizabeth of East Street, Bedminster married Edwin Dowding (JBPR).
1844 18 Aug. Noted as a potter when his daughter Lucy of St Philip’s parish married George Gravill (PPR).
1846 15 Nov. Noted as a potter when his daughter Sarah of Redcliff Street married Edward Gregory (TPR).
1850 4 Mar. Noted as a potter when his daughter Mary Ann of St Philip’s parish married Joseph Millard (PPR). (She may have been a widow as she appears to have been married before in January 1842).
