Born c1843 in Fenton, Staffordshire, the son of Levi Smith I and brother of Ellen, Levi II and Richard Smith (71C).

1871 Potter saggar maker, Victoria Terrace, St Philip’s parish (28), living with his parents and siblings (71C).
1881 Potter saggar maker, 12 Russell Street, Longton, Staffordshire (38), living with his wife Elizabeth (36), potter transferer, born in Longton, and children Levi (15), potter saggar maker, Frances Jane (13), potter and scholar, Mary (11), all born in Longton, Ellen (8), born in St Philip’s parish, Samuel (4) and Richard (2), both born in St George (81C).
