Born c1842 in Burslem, Staffordshire, the father of James Salt (71C, 81C).

1881 Potter’s manager, 55 Carlisle Street, Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent (39), living with his wife Selinda (34) and children Minnie (9) born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, James (6), born in Basford, Staffordshire and Louisa (2), born in Burslem (81C).
1891 Potter’s manager, 201 Coronation Road, Bedminster (48), living with his wife Selinda (44) and children (91C).
1891 16 Mar. He was described as the foreman of Pountney’s Victoria Pottery Works (Bristol Mercury).
1901 Potter’s foreman, 17 James Street, Wolstanton, Staffordshire (59), living with his wife Selinda W. (55) and daughter Louisa (22) (01C).
