MARSH George

Born c1829 in Burslem, Staffordshire, he was the son of Samuel Marsh I and brother of Joseph Marsh (A, 51C).

1841 Not described as a potter, Water Lane, Temple parish (12) he was living with his parents Samuel (45), a potter and Ann (50) (41C).
1844 12 Mar. The son of Samuel Marsh, a Bristol potter, he was apprenticed to J.D. Pountney with 1s to learn the art of a thrower, aged 15 years (A, Ao).
1851 Potter thrower, 1 Lewis’s Building, Temple parish (22) he was living with his mother Ann (61), widow, born in Wellington, Somerset and his sister Eliza (19) a milliner, born in Burslem, Staffordshire (51C).
1854-57 Temple parish (TPR).
1861 9 Regent Street, St Philip’s parish (32), living with his wife Sarah (35) born in Westbury-on-Trym, and children (61C).
1871 Potter thrower, 9 Regent Street, St Philip’s parish (42), living with his wife Sarah (45) and children (71C).
1881 His wife was a widow (81C).
1883 3 Apr. Noted as a potter, deceased, when his son William John Marsh (24) a railway signalman, of Regent Street, married Emma Pike (HTPR).
1885 28 Jun. Noted as a potter, deceased, when his daughter Ada Alice Marsh (21) a fancy box maker of 1Regent Street married Edwin Boardman (HTPR).
1885 22 Aug. Noted as a potter, deceased, when his daughter Clara Jane Marsh (23) a worker at a tobacco factory of 1 Regent Street, married Frederick William Taylor (HTPR).
