Probably the Samuel Jefferies, described as a workman at the St Philip’s Pottery, Temple Backs, who was killed instantly as a result of a boiler explosion on the ferryboat, the Red Rover, which operated between the Stonebridge and the Nova Scotia Yard, Hotwells. He left a wife and two children (Bristol Times). |
