See the Potteries List section for the St Silas Pottery.
The Pottery had previously been run by Thomas Hickery and Edwin Caleb Hickery, trading as Thomas Hickery & Son, until Thomas Hickery’s death in 1898.
1898-c1900 | Edwin Caleb Hickery ran the St Silas Pottery. |
The Pottery was still in operation in 1899 but Edwin Caleb Hickery was described as an oil and soap stores keeper in the 1901 census. However, it was still recorded in the directories but these may have been errors. In the 1911 census Hickery was described as a tile and ornament maker, brick and tile works, but as a worker rather than an employer, so it seems unlikely that he was still running the St Silas Pottery.
