The son of Thomas Harris of Tenbury, Worcestershire, tanner (A).

1733 16 Jun. He was apprenticed to John and Hester Weaver, £10 paid with the apprentice. Friends to find apparel (A, Ao, Ar).
1736 8 Jan. His apprenticeship was transferred to Charles and Mary Christopher (A).
1742 6 May. A potter of Bristol, he was bondsman for John Harvey, scribbler, of Bradford, Wiltshire (Adm.).
1781 20 Feb. He became a free potter (F, G).
